Maxine Sutton
UK Artist + Designer

My studio practice incorporates various activities: making artworks; designing for interiors collections; museum based research projects; exhibiting; teaching and design commissions.  My initial training is as a fine artist, but long before that I spent much of my childhood collecting and making with fabric. Learning to sew and crochet with my grandmothers are some of my earliest memories and later I completed an MA in Constructed Textiles at the Royal College of Art. I make collages and drawings then sample and experiment with stitch and screen print combinations to develop images, patterns and textile artworks as well as annual collections of interior products.
